What it is, and is not
- It is the record, read. Nothing in it is written for the email; every sentence traces to an item on the wire, and the same week goes out as a thread and stands as the lead on the front page.
- No takes, no sponsors, no pitches. The wire's standards apply to the email as they do to the site. Point of view lives in the briefing's framing of the week, never in a prediction or a recommendation.
- Once a week, and only then. No launch announcements, no "we're excited to share." If nothing happened, the email says so and is short.
- Your address goes to Substack and nowhere else. Substack confirms it by email before anything is sent; one click unsubscribes; the archive is public here and on Substack, so you lose nothing by leaving.
